PAINT CORRECTION SERVICES

Remember how good your car’s finish looked when you first saw it on the showroom floor? The depth and gloss of the paint are what made you fall in love with the car in the first place, and it is precisely that which draws the most attention. Sure your car’s finish may still shine, but shine means nothing without the depth and clarity that only comes from proper machine polishing performed by an Advanced Paint Correction Specialist (like Mirror Image Detailing).

Paint correction (swirl removal), is a labor-intensive process utilizing nano-technology abrasives (compounds and polishes). The art of safe, modern, and proper buffing techniques is what separates the true professional detailer from all the rest, and it is a skill-set that is mastered by very few. Before you trust your beloved ride with just anyone, just keep in mind that this process isn't something to be taken lightly. We unfortunately spend a lot of time fixing work that was done incorrectly by unskilled buffer operators from other detailers, body shops, manufacturers, and dealership prep departments.

In addition to all of the detailing packages listed below, we highly recommend the addition of one of our Protective Coatings application to help maintain your new finish for an extended period!

EXPECTATIONS FOR THIS PACKAGE

As the name suggests, this level of paint correction utilizes just one step of machine polishing (also referred to as one-step polishing). While not designed to get the swirls 100% out given the single step process, a huge transformation in the condition of the paint can be achieved. On softer paints (Japanese cars for instance), we can usually remove up to 70% of swirls, haze, and light defects, whereas, on harder paints (German brands), this could be up to 50%. We never really know until we start the correction process.

There are a lot of different variables that dictate just how much correction that you can safely achieve in a one-step process, and we approach each car and paint system accordingly to maximize results for the given budget or goals. There is no one system or product that works for all vehicles, and we are well-versed in all the modern polishes and techniques so that each vehicle can be tailored to accordingly.

EXPECTATIONS FOR THIS PACKAGE

When you step up to the realm of a two step paint correction, you’re significantly improving the finish by removing almost all of the swirls, and almost all of the heaviest of scratches and defects. The photo examples below (before and after images) are of the two step process and as you can see, the transformation is significant. This process starts with a heavy compounding machine polishing stage to remove the defects, and then followed by a secondary polishing stage to refine the finish and increase gloss and clarity. Given the differences in paint types, condition, and size of vehicles, the rate for the two step paint correction varies, but we will consult with each vehicle owner to provide a more precise pricing structure. The paint type and condition will also dictate the level of correction, but typically this process on most cars will get rid of 85-99% of all defects. And at this level of correction, you’re getting very close to that of a brand new vehicle!
